Just FYI, 2000 mg is equal to 2g--an almost negligible amount (8kcal), even for a diabetic. Far more concerning would be the rest of the ingredients...

HA HA!
I got to this page straight from google. I was laughing away at the post of a diabetic drinking energy drinks, but I'd totally misunderstood the page!
Apparently it's supposed to be about the company being stupid! I thought it was Craig the fu#king retard's post that was featuring in 'thisisjuststupid.com'!

now they have an "absolutely zero".. no carb/cal/ sugar. its really good. and remember, all the different Monster styles have different results. some of the Purple and orange ones just taste like juice - they have a lot more sugar. I wouldnt drink monster if i wasnt drinking the blue (lo-carb) or the absolutely zero... too much sugar even if youre not a diabetic...

Ii think what this guy is experiencing is a "high" as if he had taken drugs, it happens to me i cant drink monster because it makes me become agitated, nervous and with an strange feeling. Just dont drink it and leave your other illness aside when experiencing the Monster effect. Its cheaper than coke.

That isn't much sugar but I've had similar reactions. It feels like an insulin spike but I haven't been able to confirm this. The symptoms I get are shakiness, weakness, cold sweats, fatigue and activity intolerance, and sometimes significant hunger.

But that has only happened a handful of times. Most of the time, I end up running on the treadmill for an hour and don't feel very tired.

I'm not diabetic but I've had a few run-ins with hypoglycemia. I don't have blood glucose monitoring but I have been screened every few years (regular checkup dipstick, not the fasting or glucose test). I've run a glucose/keto stick when feeling symptomatic but nothing comes up. I'm only talking about the lo-carb Monster BTW. I've had a similar reaction with a regular energy drink of another brand that used fructose but no dextrose. I've never had a problem with a sucrose-based drink.
