Here is another criminal that has to go down in history for being one of the dumbest criminals ever. His crime? He stole a couple of candy bars and a toboggan hat .. from a police station. Who goes into a police station and tries to take the things that are there? How could he think that this might even remotely be a place where he would not get caught? And as if that isn’t bad enough, the guy also stole two syringes that had already been used. So not only is he trying to take stuff from the cops; he’s taking drug paraphernalia that has probably been used by someone that he shouldn’t be using it after.

The man, a guy named Derek Kidd who lives in Ohio, wasn’t even in any real trouble before the theft occurred. He and his girlfriend had been taken in to the police station on disorderly conduct charges but they had been released. Kidd needed to make a phone call when he was released so the officers allowed him to use a phone in the building. Sometime during the process of using the phone, Kidd decided to pocket the two syringes, two candy bars and a hat. He might have even gotten away with it except that the hat, which he was wearing underneath his own hat, had a police logo on it that wasn’t covered by his own cap. The police patted him down and found the other stuff on him.

Of course, Kidd ended up being booked and could get into some serious trouble. It doesn’t really look good to be stealing something immediately after being released from another charge. And the cops are never too happy when they’re the ones that get stolen from. Dumb!
