Sleeping Next to your Dead Wife is Not Okay
By Just Stupid on Dec 4, 2009 in Stupid Men
Grief is a difficult thing. We understand that. Everyone has to go through their own process of letting go when a loved one dies. The key phrase there, though, is "letting go". You can’t hang on to the dead person forever. That’s a fact that one man in Asia seems to be in denial about though. He’s been trying to sleep next to his dead wife for years now.
The man’s first method of staying close to his wife after her death was to go sleep on her grave. Although that’s a bit eccentric, it’s not impossible to understand. Many people feel closer to their loved ones who have passed on when they spend time with them at the cemetery. It’s not a far leap to think that sleeping there would feel a little bit like sleeping with the person that has passed on. It could be seen as a phase that a person might go through when first dealing with a spouse’s death.
However, instead of moving on from this and gradually letting his wife go, this man actually got weirder. He decided that he wanted to sleep closer to his wife than just being on top of her grave. He actually dug a tunnel into her grave to allow him to sleep closer next to her regardless of the weather in the cemetery. This worked for him for a little while until neighbors and authorities had enough of his nonsense. You might think that this ended the man’s eccentric clinging behavior but you would be wrong.
He then actually dug up his wife’s remains. At this point in time, she was starting to decompose. That didn’t deter him from wanting to sleep with her. Instead he covered the remains with clay and shaped them back into a female human form. He sleeps with her in their old bed. He even allows his son to hug her dead body each night. Are they ever going to be able to move on?!
