Rep. Hank Johnson Thinks Guam Will Tip Over

You can see from the above video that Rep. Hank Johnson has some big fears about Guam. He believes that the small island (and he takes a VERY long time to inadequately describe how small the island is) may actually tip over and fall into the ocean. His concern is that sending too many people to Guam will overpopulate the area, stretching the capacity of what the island can hold and that it will simply capsize like a boat.

Navy’s Pacific Fleet commander Adm. Robert Willard didn’t even seem to know how to respond to this statement. He bypassed it by explaining how many people would be coming over from the military (approximately 25,000). After all, how else do you respond to someone who thinks that an island might fall over?

To Johnson’s credit, he claims that he was making a statement about the danger that bringing this many people to the island would have in terms of the environmental impact on the area. He tried to backtrack after the embarrassing statement about Guam sinking under the weight of these new people, saying that he was just using a metaphor for the effect that this would have on the region. Regardless, he came off looking pretty stupid!

Hank Johnson is a Democrat I believe, not that it matters, he is a congressman and should know better.

They should have mandatory drug testing for all members of congress, the senate, the whitehouse staff AND the president!

I kind of thought there would be 535 entries here? I’m cautiously pleased.
