Parkour is a really ol urban sport. However, as with all extreme sports, there are some stupid people who take it all too far. That was the case recently with some some crazy parkour people who decided to do a major stunt jump from the rooftop of one building down to the rooftop of the building below. The stunt wasn’t done just for fun but instead was being done to spread the word about parkour. In other words, it was a media stunt more than it was a sports stunt.

The stunt was performed in St. Petersburg, Russia which was the host to a recent parkour conference.The crazy jump certainly did raise a lot of attention during this event. It also stirred up a lot of controversy. People who are truly parkour fanatics will tell you that the jump was just a dumb idea. Far too many things could have gone wrong with the jump. Luckily nothing bad happened but it could have ended in some serious tragedy. That would not have just been bad for the people involved; it would have given a bad name to the sport as well.

Every extreme sport is going to have people who take it too far. Those people are sometimes the ones that do the best job of pushing the boundaries and making the sport even better. However sometimes those folks are just plain dumb. Which category do you think the guys who did this stunt fall into – boundary-pushers or boneheads?
