Chris Jessie Touches Ball – Texas vs. Arizona State
By Just Stupid on Dec 28, 2007 in Stupid Sports
Did you see this play during the 2007 Holiday Bowl between Arizona State and Texas? They are calling this the most bizarre college play of the year. To me what made it bizarre was the fact that the referee actually reversed the ruling on the field based on the replay. I cannot believe that was “indisputable evidence”.
It did not appear to me that Chris Jessie actually touched the ball. I also think that it is actually a moot point. When a ball is live like that, the coaches should not even be close to being on the field. He was WAY on the field, and besides, I believe the Texas sidelines had already been given a warning, so I think that the penalty was warranted whether the ball was touched or not.
And, I am I the only who noticed that Jessie is actually signaling for intentional grounding? This means he thought it was a dead ball, which explains why he was trying to pick it up. No matter – Just Stupid!
