Is the Snuggie a stupid product? We will concede that this is a debatable topic. However we don’t think there’s anything debatable about the Japanese Snuggie. This product is just absolutely ridiculous. The Japanese took an already questionable product and managed to make it even worse.

How the Japanese Snuggie differs from the traditional Snuggie:

• It has a hood on it. Now this could have actually been a kind of cool addition to the Snuggie design. However this hood is less like a hoodie hood and more like a Mummy-Bag hood. That does not look comfortable at all.
• It is a one-piece outfit with legs. It’s not really a blanket. It’s more like an adult onesie outfit. You can walk around wearing this thing which is convenient but you know that it means people will start wearing this out in public places. Not cool.
• The material doesn’t look comfortable at all. It’s not blanket-comfy on the outside. Maybe it’s cozy inside but it looks more like it’s made from sleeping bag material.

Yuck.

There are going to be some people out there who say that there are so many differences between this and the Snuggie that it shouldn’t even be called a Snuggie. We agree. That’s the way it’s being promoted around the web though which is why it came to our attention in the first place.
