Cox Cable Took My MOJO!

mojo network So out of the blue, Cox Cable Arizona removed one of my favorite HD channels – MOJO 721.  MOJO offered some of the most unique and entertaining programming on cable, including Three Sheets, I Bet You, Howard Stern, After Hours and more.

I tried a few times to contact Cox to see if this was temporary or what the story was.  Finally today, someone answered my chat session with them.  Here is what they had to say…

Question
What happened to 721 MOJO??

Answer
Thank you for your recent inquiry.

We appreciate you taking the time to advise us of your interest in the Mojo Channel in high definition. Please be aware that this channel was removed from our channel lineup. Although this channel is not currently available, we have notified our Programming Department of your interest in seeing it added to our line-up.

We value your feedback and strive to offer a variety of channels to meet the needs of our customers. We are especially interested in providing programming specifically requested by customers like you.

We must consider a number of factors, though, when choosing to add or delete programming. These factors include programming costs, program ratings and the effect that the addition or subtraction will have on the remaining line-up.

Thank you again for contacting us using our online service options. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Pretty cut and dry.  Been with Cox for 20 years, but we will start looking into satellite now.  We are supposed to be getting more HD channels not fewer!

I apologize for the loss of the Mojo broadcast and the generic response you got from our support representatives. What has actually happened here is that Mojo’s parent company inDemand has decided to cease Mojo’s operations as a broadcast channel. If you have any further questions please feel free to email me at hrd-hsi.newsgroups@cox.com. I’ve also provided a link to my source for this information.

Chris: thank you for the quick response and answer. As you can see on the Engadget post, there are quite a few MOJO fans out there. I hope their programming finds a new home.
