The Setting
We are fortunate to live on the Phoenix Mountain Preserve in Phoenix, Arizona.  We have lived on the norh side of this great city park (one of the world’s largest) for more than 20 years.  Both my wife and I are avid hikers and over the years we have seen some pretty silly things in the desert behind our house (pictured below).  Obnoxious mountain bikers, lost hikers without water, and a few helicopter rescues.

The Inspiration
What you see below is the reason for this stupid website.  You see I was hiking along the other day and came upon a plastic bag laying by the side of the trail.  I have seen this scene along the trail on many previous occasions, however this time it finally got to me.  I said to myself "this is just stupid!".  I continued with my hike just thinking about that plastic bag and its contents.  I started to think of other stupid things people do and being the Internet guy I am, decided a website was in order.  I returned home, registered a domain name with GoDaddy, printed out a sign and headed back to the desert.

What’s in the bag?
You see that plastic bag is full of dog poop.  Yep dog poop.  This means somebody took the time to walk their dog, take a plastic bag, scoop up the dog’s warm poo, put it in the bag, tie it and set it neatly on the side of the trail.  What are they thinking?  First, this preserve has coyotes running wild in it.  Should the coyotes be bagging their poo?  Second, hundreds of people visit the preserve every day with their dogs and horses.  You can find their droppings every where and guess what?…  It’s biodegradable.  But that stupid plastic bag isn’t!  Third, do they think there are desert sanatation workers?  Now I realize some of these people do actually return and pick of their little bag.  But the rest of you — come on, take the darn thing home!

This Is Just Stupid!
So there you have it.  I went back out with my little sign, took some pictures and started this stupid website.  And I just know all of you reading this run across stupid things every day.  So send us your dumb, stupid, ridiculous pictures, videos and stories.  Who knows, maybe we can educate the world one picture at a time!
